The Monte dos Avós is a typical country house used in rural tourism, with a strong connection to the roots and traditions of the region. This county house is typically Algarvian and is full of history. The original building was built in the 1950’s by the now proprietor Leonardo Guerreiro’s grandparents, as their home and for agricultural uses.
In 2001 Leonardo and his wife Clara restored the house, which was now in ruins making sure to conserve its traditional architecture, with the intention to preserve the memory of this old rural building and home to their grandparents.
Monte dos Avós combines the simplicity of the rural environment with the comfort and hospitality of its owners. Maintaining its original character this old agricultural and habitation home is decorated with the tones of the local land and its culture. Creating this comfortable rural environment, the space is decorated with tools used during everyday rural tasks. To add to the accommodation are the outside spaces with various relaxing areas in the garden and its swimming pool.
After a refreshing dip in the pool there are sunbeds, hammocks and benches dotted around the garden to allow you to relax with a good book or just sit back and enjoy the views of the surrounding hills. There is a barbeque and tables on the terrace that are perfect for enjoying with friends and family, while surrounded by the gardens where only nature’s sounds can bother you. There is nothing better that to come and see for yourself, come and get to now a place where you can relax surrounded by natures tranquillity. A place where you will want to come back to!
